Went to a Timberwolves game tonight. As I was waiting with Jason for others to show up Grant fucking Nolan walks in and I just about tackled him. It was really great seeing him and hanging out with the rest of the kids all night, especially the three-plus hours at Jimmy John's. Thanks all, it was wonderful! Can't wait for Gay 90's next week!

Empty Thoughts on a Rather Empty Holiday
Eh, not much going on..
About as uninteresting of a New Year's as can be imagined; I just hung out on the living room floor watching TV with the family. Yeah! Only Nate replied to my e-mail about a Morris party, so fuck everyone else.
Open Water is incredibly lame and uninteresting. Disappointment.
How did Anna Nicole Smith go from crazy-hot to fat to fuckable to crazy skinny alien? Crazy progression.
My puupies are adorable!
I'm really saddened that I can't trust musicians anymore. Motley Crue was on Leno and I was studying them to see if they were actually singing. The sad part is that even in rock the chorus was obviously fabricated, as it sounded identical ot their CDs twenty years ago. In a move of redemption, Vince Neil said fuck on live television. Yay!
Finding Neverland looks wonderful. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Saw Lemony Snickett's Series of Unfortunate Events today. It wasn't as good as I expected, but it wasn't really the stand-alone film I thought it would be. It really was just an adaptation of a book and that was very obvious from the beautiful scenery and fantastic events. So it wasn't worthless by any means, just have to respect it being tied so closely to the book.
I don't think creative thought has much time left. The previews I saw were a Pink Panther remake, a film based on Bewitched (think we could do without that), and the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm very excited about this new film, but I'm wondering how it'll go. I love Tim Burton, but when asked about how creepy the movie will be, he said that he saw the original finally and thought his wasn't creepy at all, comparatively. But it should be a wonderful time with a Jonny Depp who looks really odd and twisted.

In Bed By 8 Due To Boredom
My Dad asked me to turn of Viva La Bam because he sits on the computer idly and therefore also has reign over the TV. I guess he wanted to watch Law and Order, being entertained by detailed rapes, murders, and abuses instead of hearing the awful noise of a few friends exclaiming bleeped swears now and then. So fuck that, I went to my room and for the first time in a long time, read something I didn't have to for school. It wasn't anything amazing, just some Grisham book I picked up out of the necessesity of extra-TV oriented hobbies while I'm in Victoria. Kinda interesting and I'm through about 100 pages on day 1. Man, what I could have done with some of my class books with this kind of boredom--glad to hear I'm wasting it on Grisham.
Anyway, it's not exciting, but being around the dogs is fun, and Alfredo seems to be having a pretty good time. I'd like to visit Lauren, if possible, but I'm not sure that it will be. Sounds like she's having a pretty crappy break and I'd love to go there and experience her Nazi parents. Not Nazi cause they're from Germany or anything ridiculous like that, they're just pretty close to Nazis.

Love Not Being From Morris
I'm very grateful I didn't grow up in Morris....
I'm glad I don't see my entire family every day because we all live on the same block
I'm glad it feels like Christmas when I shop in the Cities
I'm glad Christmas shopping isn't restricted to Pamida...man, that'd be shitty
I'm glad I've never had to meet my Dad at a bar cause he'd rather drink whiskey there than be home

My God, everybody got destroyed last night. It was just as close to an ideal night as possible--everyone there was hilarious, the goofy board games, darts, quarters--it was all wonderful. It was really nice that everyone there really contributed to the fun and no one was there that caused awkwardness or stupidity or anything like that. Thanks so much to everyone who came, and I can't say that enough because Dan's about outta here and it was just such a great night full of people screwing around. Sean and Kirstin even hung around (told you it'd be better than I, Robot) and they were fun and nice to have there.
People were kind of hesitant at first, but man, once we all got a couple of tequilla shots down people didn't stop. By the way, hope Colin's okay.
But yeah, great way to end the semester--just the small group party that you can't beat! Ladies who stayed home--you missed out!

The keg this weekend was great! I hope we can do it again without Luke, who was just an ass. Hopefully he'll never come around again. Everything just worked so well--there were some new people, some dancing, some sitting, it wasn't loud outside, nothing got broken (except for the mailbox becoming unhinged), no big stains or anything...just can't ask for a better situation. Have to have a small gathering next time though...get a chance to talk and hang out instead of just beer bongs. Was looking forward to that at the apartments, but for whatever reason everyone dispersed and I was stuck watching porn with 3 others, so that was a little disappointing.
If anyone's reading this and will see Ben soon, kick his ass to give me all of his party pictures!
Prince of Persia 2 frickin rules! It's vastly improved from the last one, and a lot harder.
On Sunday Joe, Lauren and myself went to the Old No. 1 after I got off of work. At first we were joined by this sweet old lady I know, but she was trashed and simply hilarious. Some guy quickly came over and asked Lauren to play pool with them and she kicked their asses! Good job, baby! Between the stumplifter she had at the Legion and multiple beers at the No. 1, she had a pretty good time, as did I.

I'm amazed at how attractive smoking can look in film, and how awful it tases in reality

Thanksgiving Break in the Lonliest Town in Minnesota
I'm having a pretty decent break. The puppies are just adorable and great to hang out with. Other than that it's mostly just movies with the family and playing video games. Not doing as much work as I should be: papers and Middle English and such.
There's a new video game in which you must assassinate JFK, get situated and take him out. Sounds pretty shocking, but I guess it's no worse than games I've seen where soldiers go into Iraq and take people out.
Speaking of terror, the Bush administration said they won't stop Afghanistan from their heroin production because they're involved in the war on terror and they don't want to take police away from the terror watch to something minor like heroin and warlords and slavery. Pretty sweet, huh?
Also found a site where you control a camera attached to a gun by your computer. The gun actually fires at animal targets. I hope the animals are at least used for food, finding a more pleasant demise than the slaughterhouse method. But man, is that laziness and crazy...online death. What's next?
Saw Sarah at the Mall of America today. Besides that it's a land of strangers, which is a nice departure from Morris. Got some Big Butt beer today and I'm sipping on that and a little bottle of vodka. Mmm Mmm.
See you all in Morris.
Coming up:
Christmas movies at the house
Cinco de Deciembre (cinco de mayo early)
New year's keg for anyone who wants to be in morris

Good party last night, but I'm really feeling it now. This morning I saw that my bottle of vodka was mostly gone...didn't remember doing that. So yeah, skipeed work because I was puking a lot....haven't ever been sick the next day. Anyway, quite a bit of time to heal with break and all and hopefully we'll do it again. We had some random people so it turned into a danceish party, which I like, but hopefully we'll have a hang out low-key party sometime...unless no one would come of course.
